Yamucha is a character from the popular manga, anime and money-grabbing franchise Dragon Ball.

Hi, Yamucha!

As Dragon Ball is about really strong people engaging in, at least in theory, fascinating high paced martial arts, Yamucha naturally doesn’t have much to do with it.

History
Yamucha used to be a desert bandit and then he got beat up by Goku. He later trains for the 21st Tenkaichi Tournament after he starts dating Bulma and loses. After that he trains with master martial artist Kame Sennin and proceeds to lose at the next two tournaments. That is everything Yamucha does in Dragon Ball.

In Dragon Ball Z, Yamucha offers his services to fight against the evil alien invaders, the Saiyans. He dies. Oh, and he didn’t actually fight a Saiyan, he died against their henchmen that no one else had trouble with. He trains in the afterlife and soon after his revival, is dumped by Bulma. He then gets almost murdered by a robot old man and becomes a nurse to a sick Goku. Years later, he gets some really nifty yellow pants and is killed by Buu. He got better.

He gets like six seconds of screen time in Dragon Ball GT.

Appearance
Yamucha once looked like Akira Toriyama Stock Character #712 but then at the 23rd Tenkaichi Tournament he had scars for no real reason and has borne them ever since. He usually wears a Kame Sennin gi because it helps you blend into the background as a minor character. Sometimes he wears normal clothes and in the Boo arc (and GT) he wears a yellow suit. It rocks.

Oh, and he has a floating transforming companion called Pu’reh. No one cares about Pu’reh.
